>>>Following the recommendations of the Council of Social Work Education to include knowledge and skills on policy practice in the social work curriculum,Introduction to Policy Practiceemphases policy making processes and uses policy content from a wide variety of policy areas to demonstrate policy practice techniques and their effect on the policy making process. Students see policymaking come alive through interactive policy simulated case studies (SCS) that are grounded  in theoretical and empirical knowledge (book) and applied through critical thinking assignments (Instructor's manual andMySocialWorkLab). This book goes beyond examining the evolution of current policies, to teaching students how to develop, implement, and evaluate policy making and policy changing strategies to truly advocate for the client, agencies, and communities they serve. Students experience the impact of the social, economic and political forces in play during policy making and see the clear connections between policy, programs, and practice options.  Online resources and assignments help instructors to maximize the teaching potential of this book and simulated case studies. ]]>
